## About

LearnSlice is based in Düsseldorf and builds learning software that is grounded in the customer's own curriculum, hosted in Germany or the EU, and owned by the customer. It operates in two ways:

1. **Engineering partner (custom development).** Organisations that already have content, curricula and question banks commission LearnSlice to build the software around them: AI tutors, learning platforms, LMS, quiz and assessment systems, exam preparation, and learning analytics. The customer owns the result.
2. **LearnSlice platform (product).** A B2B SaaS platform that automates mentoring for apprentices (Azubis) in German companies, combining IHK exam-aligned learning paths with company-specific knowledge into personalised AI coaching.

- Learner data is processed on the client's infrastructure. No learner data is sent to third-party AI providers, and none is used to train external models.
- Full GDPR compliance with a data processing agreement (AVV). Hosting in Germany, the EU, or on premise.
- EU AI Act ready: human oversight, transparency and documentation built in, since educational AI can fall under the high-risk category.
- Retrieval grounded on the client's verified material, so answers cite their sources.
- White-label: the client owns the deployment, the content, and the relationship with their learners.

## Research and Evidence

LearnSlice is co-developed with the IDiAL institute at FH Dortmund in a research project funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE, grant 16GM200302). In May 2026, 50 master's students used it to prepare for a university exam:

- Every answer in the system evaluation carried a valid citation back to its source passage, with no invented references
- 80% of students reached complete or near-complete understanding of the exam topic
- 70% found the personalised learning pace appropriate for their needs
